Clelia Prestes is a visiting Researcher at City College of New York, CUNY. She received her PhD from the University of São Paulo and is the Director of Mátria, a consultancy on healthy, racial, and gender relations. She was a visiting scholar at the African and African Diaspora Studies Department (University of Texas at Austin). Her thesis was on Strategies to promote the health of Black women: intersectionality and Buen Vivir. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Psychology (USP). She is a member of the National Articulation of Black Psychologists and Researchers and a member of the Kilomba Collective. 

Bethania is an Afro-Brazilian ballerina and cultural activist. Born in Rio de Janeiro, she became the first Afro-Brazilian principal dancer at the Dance Theatre of Harlem under Arthur Mitchell. She has danced with Complexions Contemporary Ballet, worked with Prince, and choreographed major campaigns for Nike and Facebook, as well as President Lula’s 2023 inauguration. Bethania also leads the Beatriz Nascimento Foundation, honoring her mother’s legacy through arts and education. She currently teaches at Dance Theatre of Harlem, Harlem School of the Arts, Alvin Ailey, and Brooklyn Ballet.
