Caesar's Rebellion Part I "Nerdy Edition" :: 7:30pm to 9:00pm

Length: 90 minutes | Thursdays

Caesar's Rebellion is set in the 18th century of British New York and has two parts. Part I shares a tale set on the southern tip of the island Manhattan that is home to the wealthy master class, merchants, pirates, sailors, indentures, prostitutes, free Black people, and enslaved Africans. The "Nerdy Edition" stops past our public art kiosks on Water and Gouverneur Lane and mixes elements of the Other Side of Wall Street Prelude.

This walking tour explains how the enslaved and free people of African descent worked together to subvert the system of slavery and define a culture of rebellion. Central to this story are several enslaved men by the name of Caesar being brought to the port city of New York from the sugar plantations of the West Indies culminating with the first armed Black rebellion in 1712.

Tours meet at 192 Front Street in Manhattan's Seaport District between Fulton Street and John Street; right next to the Broadway Tickets store. Please arrive by 7:15 pm so we can begin promptly.
